We know that a lot of people are like us and want to do good for the environment. We also know a lot of people who get married don't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on flowers that may wilt before their wedding even begins. We are proud that we have created a Win-Win situation with our high quality faux flower rentals. Yes, they are reusable but that is just the tip of the iceberg of how faux flowers are environmentally conscious!

1. No Pesticides or Chemicals 

Approximately 90% of fresh flowers in the United States are imported from South America - mostly from Colombia and Ecuador. These farms rely heavily on chemical pesticides and fertilizers. A study in 2007 by the International labor Rights Fund found that 20% of chemicals sprayed on Colombian flowers are illegal in the U.S. and Europe, as they contribute to the contamination of soil and caused health problems for field workers. These same chemicals impact the surrounding flora and fauna, spreading by wind and contaminated water :-(

2. Reusable Arrangements

We use high quality faux flowers, so our arrangements are recycled and used at many events. This eliminates the waste created by each event, multiplies the other positive impacts to the environment listed below, and allows us to charge our clients way less than other florists!

3. Transportation

As previously mentioned, most flowers sold in the United States come from Colombia and Ecuador. They are then transported by plane to the U.S. and are Shipped in refrigerated trucks to their final destination. Faux flowers, with their indefinite shelf life, are shipped via ocean freight, typically from southeast Asia. It is estimated that air freight shipping from China produces only one-twentieth of the carbon output of air freight from South America!

4. Doesn't Wilt 

Our flowers don't go bad. They don't wilt and they don't have a limited shelf life. The sad fact is that a lot of flowers go bad before they can ever be used and have to be thrown out because they aren't in good enough shape to use for a customer's event.

My husband and I started Compass Rose Floral in 2017. We got married a few years ago and were shocked at how incredibly expensive weddings are! It's insane! So we created a business that gives couples their dream wedding at a price they can afford, with customer experience as our top priority. We spent months working with different vendors that use new technologies to provide dried, real touch, and other flowers that are nearly indistinguishable from the real thing! We then hired super talented San Diego Floral Designers to create arrangements that look like a million bucks but cost way less!

Amazing Flowers!
I encountered Compass Rose Floral at a wedding show, where I received a single rose. I carried it all the way back home with me across the country, and I was so impressed with the craftsmanship and life-like quality of it that I knew it was the perfect option. I wanted an eco-conscious wedding, and reusable flowers were the only way to go. There are no cons for going this route, as the flowers are completely customizable and are guaranteed to look fantastic! I had a Harry Potter themed wedding, so we designed arrangements of different colors to represent the different houses. I rented quite a few table decorations that really enhanced the theme as well. Everything turned out beautifully! I really like that I had the option to pick up and return the items, but ended up having them delivered.

From start to finish my experience with Compass Rose Floral was amazing. I really wanted to be conscious of how much waste one wedding can produce so I didn't want to spend thousands and thousands of dollars for flowers that would wilt and die the next day. With Compass Rose, I found that I could have all of the florals to make my vision come to life without feeling wasteful and without the hefty price tag. An added plus is I didn't have limitations based on season and with the quality of faux flowers they use our guests did not even know the difference. Fantastic Flowers!
Compass Rose was fantastic to work with throughout my wedding planning and my flowers turned out wonderfully! Compass floral was AMAZING throughout the whole process! I was having a small, intimate ceremony and needed bouquets and boutonnières. I knew I didn't want to spend an arm and leg, which were the quotes I was receiving from traditional florists. Our wedding day flowers from Compass Rose floral were absolutely STUNNING. Moriah was great throughout the entire process - from our initial phone call to the in store consultation to the day of delivery. I hadn't considered fake flowers, but after seeing the quality and photos online - I was sold! If you are considering silk/faux florals for your event, do it! I loved that we could return everything after our wedding, we would have no idea what to do with everything. When we met at the Compass Rose warehouse, the florist was incredible. She brought our vision to life right before our eyes, and the actual products turned out perfect. Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose faux flowers? What are the benefits?

1. They won't wilt in the heat or cold, with time, if you drop them on accident, if your great aunt messes with it... you fill in the blank :-)

2. If someone is allergic to flowers or pesticides they won't have an allergic reaction and go into anaphylactic shock at your wedding!

3. It's the green way to go. We re-use every flower, leaf, and stem. You don't buy thousands of dollars of flowers just to throw them all away within a week! Instead we take them back and use them again at future events!

4. You will get exactly what you want no matter the season! It's the dead of winter but you want peonies? We can do that!!

5. DIYing your own flowers is expensive and difficult. Each stem costs between $4-$20 and a normal bouquet has around 30 stems. Eeks! Instead we take on that cost, do tons of research to get only the highest quality flowers, and have our master florist design arrangements for you! 

How does the rental process work? 

We're glad you asked! It's pretty simple - it works just like a regular florist but we get the flowers back after the wedding. You'll schedule a floral consultation line and choose to chat on the phone or meet over Zoom. During this consultation we'll find out all about you and your vision for the wedding. We'll send you a quote with the items we discussed and if you decide to move forward you will pay a 50% deposit to book us for your wedding. We will create a mock-up bouquet for you (and tweak if necessary) so you can have an idea of what your arrangements will look like ahead of time (most florists don't do this.) Finally, you choose to pick up / drop off the arrangements yourself or choose to have us deliver and pick them up for you! Enjoy! 

Will people be able to tell that they are fake? 

Pretty unlikely. We have spent hours and hours searching out the highest quality stems that look (and often feel) just like real flowers. You think you're a picky shopper? Take that times 10 and you have us!

Also, people tend to see what they expect to see - if they walk in and see gorgeously arranged flowers, they typically aren't going to stop to wonder if they're fake, they'll just assume you spent a ton of money on flowers!

Do you deliver the flowers? Can I pick them up myself?

With us you have a few options: Pick up / drop off yourself, have them delivered, or a mix!

If you want to save some money you have the ability to pick up your flowers within 3 days of your wedding and drop them off up to 3 days after the wedding. We just do a $20 packaging fee and give you the boxes / baskets to make sure they flowers travel safely to and from the event!

Want to keep things easy? For a fee we will deliver your flowers within a time window that works for you and pick them up at the end of the night no later than 11pm. This is usually when the wedding has transitioned from dinner to dancing so nobody will notice. Delivery is 10% of your final order cost and if you choose to have us pick up the flowers there is an additional cost of 10-15% (depending on if we have to come back the night of or the next morning!)

When should I schedule an in - store consult?

It is definitely fun to come to our studio and see the flowers and hold your bouquet! However, in - person consults are the most efficient when you have a good idea of what you are looking for. Once you have your color scheme picked, your venue booked, and a good collection of Pinterest pins we can really have some fun!

We do love to get the ball rolling though, schedule a phone consult if you'd like to go over general pricing and other inquiries! 

Do you guys do real flowers at all?

Nope! We specialize only in faux flowers - this helps keep our carbon footprint small and be an eco-friendly company. But if you want real flowers we can always recommend a florist to help you!
